internet. The using of router is increasing every day as almost every one of us
are using internet. It can provide us WIFI internet within a specific area. As
the using of router is increasing day by day, we all need to know how to logina router. In this article I will show you the steps to login a router.
Let’s jump into the deep:
Step 1
First, you need to enter your router IP address into the device browser address bar. If
your router IP address is correct, you will redirect to a login window. And if
your IP address is incorrect, you will get a 404 error or an empty page. So, it
very important to know the correct IP address and insert it into the address
bar or search bar.
Every router has a default IP address. After buying a router
just write the keywords on Google’s search bar “IP address of the brand name”,
you will get the default IP address of that said brand router.
If you are a MAC user, then
use netstat command in the utility window to get your router’s default IP
address. You can also check your router’s default IP address in the system
preferences.
Mobile users can check router’s connected Wi-Fi device advance
properties to get the router’s IP Address.
Step 2
After successfully entering router’s
IP address, you should enter your username and password of the router. Enter
your router credentials into the login window. If you enter the right credentials
of the router, you will direct toward the control panel of the router. But if
you enter wrong credentials of, you will get an error.
In this case, open your router
documentation and get the router’s credentials from there. You can also get
your username and password from google. But in case you have changed your router’s
username and password, and you forgot them then you will need to reset router
to its default factory settings. To do this will need to press and hold routers
small button for 20-30 seconds. After that, the router will reboot. After
successfully reboot you can enter your router default username and password.
Step 3
Next step is to configure yourrouter settings as you want. You can block some specific sites to not open in
the routers network and much more.
Recommended: Always first note
down your router’s settings before changing them. Because sometimes after
changing settings of the router you may stuck. In this case, you will need to
reset the router to its default factory settings. To avoid this issue first
note down the settings, so that in any problem revert the router changes.
To secure your router, you should
always change username and password of the router. Also, change the router
default gateway to something new so that no one can try to configure its
settings. If someone does this, then you will have to reset to its default
factory settings. And in this case, you will lose all of previous settings.
