Every day I got several questions about how to increase website traffic free in my Quora account. Naturally in Quora, I write answers within 3-4 sentences. That is the reason I’m writing this article. In this article, I want to elaborate on the answer. Let’s jump into the deep:

There are several ways to increase traffic to a website such as a search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), social media optimization (SMO), social media marketing (SMM), email marketing, content marketing, video marketing, etc.

Let’s see how to utilize the tools for increasing traffic to a website.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

SEO or search engine optimization is the best way to increase traffic to a website. In another article, you can learn how to do SEO. In that article, I showed SEO techniques for low competition keywords. Here I’m showing what you should do after getting a ranking of low competition, low search value keywords.

As you have already got ranking of your low competition, low search value keywords, now time to work for ranking medium or high search value keywords.

Follow the steps below:

·         Find a high search value keyword. This keyword should be related to the keyword that you are ranking on Google’s 1st page.

·         Create high quality and informative content.

·         Use reference links

·         Optimize title, Meta tag, URL, images, etc.

·         Create internal links. Link to those pages that are ranking on Google’s 1st page.

·         Now do marketing of the content.

 

Social Media Optimization

Social media optimization is one of the best ways to generate traffic to your website. Here I am not telling about social media page creation, provide all information to the page sections, etc.

Here I am talking about what you should do to generate traffic from social platforms:

Cross-Post

Always do cross-posting of your social posts. For example, you have posted in IG, now share this post to FB, TW, PT, etc. If you pin on Pinterest, share the pin to other social media platforms like FB, Twitter, etc. It will help you to increase your social visibility and generate traffic.

Comments

Always try to do commenting on others’ posts. For example, you want to generate traffic to your food blog or restaurant website. Now if you see any post about food or restaurant, you can do comments about your food blog or restaurant with a URL.

In this way, you can generate maximum traffic from social platforms, because, most of the people in social platforms read comments rather than posts.

Video Post

Video post is very helpful for generating traffic from social media. When you want to post a video on Facebook, there are some ways to get more reach for your video post. On your Facebook page, there is a video tab. In the video tab, you can upload video content. If you upload your video content into the video tab, it will appear in the Facebook news feed as well as an Instagram news feed. You will get more reach for your content when it appears in the news feed.

In your video, there should be a website link, where you want to get traffic.

If you post your video content to your own wall or page, you will get less reach than the previous one.

For Twitter, video twit catches more engagement than other twits.

LinkedIn also enjoys the same like more engagement in video posts.

One thing always you should remember that your post should be helpful to others. When people understand that your posts are helpful to them, you will get more and more traffic.

Content Marketing

Content marketing is one of the best ways to get traffic to a website. You can do content marketing in many ways such as animation, guest blogging, video content, press release, etc.

In the content marketing technique, you should create review type content because review content always gets extra attention from the viewers.

“I need to reduce my weight and my doctor advises to walk 3km every day. I have started walking wearing “X” brand shoes. But after 1km I can’t walk because I felt pain in my leg. After few days I went to a shopping mall and there I found “A” brand shoe. The feature of the shoe is specially made for walking and jogging. After reading the feature I brought the “A” brand show immediately. Now I can walk 3-4 km every day without feeling any leg pain”.

When traffic will see this content whether it is in writing, video or audio form, most of the traffic will visit “A” brand website and the sales conversion will be very high.

Email Marketing

Email marketing is another great way to increase free website traffic. There are various types of email marketing tools available. You can install any of the email marketing plugins on your website.
